Why film?

Because the photograph
should be an event.

“Thirty-six frames. You slow down, you think, you wait — and then the shutter lets you have exactly one of them.”

Film asks something of you. A roll has a beginning, a middle and an end, and no screen to check in between. The result arrives days later, in an envelope, and you look at it properly, once, with someone beside you.

We build and restore cameras for people who like that trade. Nothing here is pretend: the brass is brass, the cloth shutter is cloth, and every dial clicks because a spring says so.
